Membership
The Membership of the Order of Avalon are the Body of the Order.
Membership in the Order
Unlike many organizations, the Order of Avalon IS NOT a "big tent" organization. Membership is a serious commitment and very selective because this is a Marital Order and there may be times when Members' lives depend on other Members.
Things to think about:
-You're joining a Martial Order, so you have to want to learn how and be willing to Fight.
-We're a Chivalric Order, so you have to want to live by a Knightly Code.
-You must want to Serve and be part of something greater than just yourself.
-Members have Expectations and Responsibilities that cannot just be dropped or ignored. It truly is a lifestyle.
Those seeking to join the Order must train for and pass a PFT test to start actual Order training. Applicants must also be willing to submit to a simple background check. Check out the Joining section on this page and the Membership FAQ.
Member Expectations
Becoming a Member of the Order means joining a Brotherhood and in turn serving a Great Cause.
It is not an easy calling as Members have many Expectations and Responsibilities. Listed here are just a few:
Respond to all Hightower Summons.
Train to keep yourself fit in Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Learn and Teach the Martial, Life, and Foundational Skills required of Members.
Participate in Order Activities and Missions.
Follow and Teach the Ways of Chivalry.
To Seek out and Recruit new potential Members.

If you are considering joining the Order then:
Check Us Out: Come to an Order gathering. Meet people, ask questions, and see if it is something you would like to be a part of.
Apply. Fill out the Membership application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted. A background check is required for all aspiring members for the integrity of the Order. At this point, you are an "Applicant".
Interviews. You will be interviewed in anywhere from a formal to an informal manner by Members.
Participate in open activities and training in preparation for the Initiate Trials.
Approval. If approved you will be given the go-ahead to proceed as an Aspirant to the Order, one who is "aspiring" to join.
Prepare. Network with Members and other Aspirants and train for the upcoming Initiate Trials. At the very minimum, the Trials consist of a Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
Initiate Trials. The first Trial is the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). It is a simplified physical test that you must complete over a certain score to be considered eligible to start training as an Initiate.
