Avalon Code of Chivalry

To Serve and Defend the Order, its Members, and its Missions

This line is specific to members of the Order of Avalon, a pledge to Serve and Protect.

To Live by the Code, the Virtues, and the Tenets of Chivalry

The agreement to be bound to the Ideals of Chivalry

To Defend Humanity Against Chaos

To protect the people individually and as a whole against the cancerous and destructive influences and forces of Chaos.

To Aid and Protect the Innocent

To help and protect those in need whenever possible.

To Quest and to Champion Just Causes

Quests and Causes give purpose and focus to one's life. Quests should generally be specific, short-term missions with achievable goals to which one swears pursuit. Causes are generally longer-term movements and commitments that require group efforts.

To avoid Deception and to Never Betray

Outside of extreme need, one should not deceive. Betrayal is a violation of the human covenant and should never be done. This does not mean that you cannot disengage from an oath or loyalty, but it must be done and let be known well before you engage in a contrary path.

To avoid Wanton Damage or Offense

Though Warriors, followers of the Way should avoid damage or agression unless it is necessary.

To Train the Body, the Mind, and the Spirit

These three pillars of being must be made and kept strong in order for one to stay on the Way through the difficulties of life.

To Better the World, Yourself, and the Lives of Others

The Way teaches to be a force for good and to always strive for improvement.

To Obey the Law of the Land if it is Just

One should follow the Law of an area whenever possible.

To Promote and Teach the Way

It is part of the Way to share the Way with others.
